OUR COMMITMENT TO SAFETY

SKYLINE'S PERFECT SAFETY RECORD

The Safest Company In The Industry Since 1984

WHY IS SAFETY SO IMPORTANT?

We can't guarantee that we will be the lowest bidder, but we can guarantee we will continue to be the safest company in the industry.

Considering the extreme dangers imposed on high rise workers, safety is the single most important asset to both our success and your success.  Aside from the obvious, where we don't want to see anyone hurt or killed, there is also a liability issue.  The maximum fine that can be imposed in Ontario is  $1,000,000.00 and 2 years in prison.

So who gets the fine?

Nobody is immune.  This fine can be imposed on the worker, the supervisor, the contractor, the building manager, and the building ownerS.  I certainly DO NOT want to share a jail cell with my client.  This is why safety is paramount to both of our success.

Skyline's Perfect Safety Record

After 37 years, we take great pride in our Perfect Safety Record.

  • Zero Accidents
  • Zero Injuries
  • Zero Fatalities
  • Zero Poisonings
  • Zero WSIB claims
  • Zero Insurance claims
  • Zero Near Misses

Reason For Success

Skyline started operating on July 10th, 1984.  It was a different time back then.  Safety was not on the minds of clients, contractors and even the government.  We recognized this lack of safety and safety enforcement early on.  Where everyone was rushing to put in the lowest bid, we stayed the course and held our prices higher to maintain our own safety.  The struggle was enormous and the sacrifices were many, but we persevered.

Times have changed and the high rise industry is much safer now.  But let's not forget, this type of work still remains extremely dangerous.  We have a saying in the business, "With any job you can make a mistake.  The only difference between your job and mine is that you live to make another one.  We don't."

When Does Safety Begin?

NOW!  The moment we get the call from you is the same moment we implement our safety program to ensure our continued perfect safety record.

Most clients don't realize how much work goes into keeping both you and us safe.  From the moment we get your call to the moment we show up, here's what happens behind the scenes:

  • Pre-building or structure inspection
  • Roof anchor safety inspection
  • Document inspection & assessment
  • Legal assessment
  • Vehicle and traffic planning & assessment
  • Public protection planning & assessment
  • Heavy lifting and equipment planning & assessment
  • Environmental & weather assessment
  • Micro & macro climatic assessment
  • Chemical & cleaning solutions assessment.
  • Operational procedures assessment
  • Emergency response and rescue planning & assessment
  • Equipment inspection
  • Personal Protection equipment inspection
  • Tools inspection
  • Health and Safety program review
  • And all of this happens before we even show up on the first day.

From this  list, you can see that a lot of work goes into our safety program.  But it doesn't stop there.  Our safety program continues throughout our work.

Why Is This Work So Dangerous?

  • Falls from heights are the number one cause of injuries and fatalities.
  • In our line of work, there are no "second chances".
  • It is paramount that we get it right the first time.
  • Wind is highly unpredictable
  • Micro and macro climatic activity needs to be considered
  • Knowledge & training play a key role
  • A company's safety program is paramount to it's success
  • Daily equipment inspections will prevent equipment failure

Key Components

Safety can be broken down into categories or key components.

  • Tools & Equipment

We take safety SERIOUSLY.  We even put it in our phone number:
